As a part of Science awareness week celebration, Impulse Physics club of MES Mampad college organized a science awareness programme for the students of MES Higher Secondary School, Mampad on 15/11/2017. Programme commenced with an awareness rally from the college to the school. Official inauguration of the programme was done by Sri. Unni Muhammed, Principal, MES Higher Secondary
School. Sri.Rasheed K, Department of Physics welcomed the gathering. Smt. Hind N, HOD Physics
delivered the presidential address. Smt. Raseena (Department of Physics, MES Higher Secondary School) and Dr. Job Sabu K (Dept.of Physics, MES Mampad College) felicitated the function. Fathima Thasneem, first year Science student made vote of thanks.
Department of Economics of MES Mampad College , under the auspices of Economics Club, organised a panel discussion on "Looming crisis in Indian economy in the context of demonetisation and GST". All panel members were our students. Munavvirali, Abhimanyu, Sabik, Vipin and Jinsha of M1 Economics, Mohammed Ashiq, Rinshina and Suhaila Marjan of M3 Economics, and Fasil Shahid, Rimshad and Haseeb of B5 Economics were the panel members. All of them expressed and substantiated their own view on recent slowdown and two important flagship programmes of the Government viz. demonetisation and GST. The discussion was chaired by Muhammed Shafi P of M1 Economics. Before the discussion three presentations were held. One was by Jasna AK of M1 Economics. She presented paper on "Demonetisation and GST as flagship programmes: Issues in implementation". Second, Ahsana of M1 Economics presented a paper on "Contributing factors of recent slowdown: A special focus on demonetisation and GST. Third presentation was done by Aswathi of B5 Economics. She presented a paper on "Way out from present crisis: Stimulous packages". The presentations were succeed by panel discussion. panel, by and large, opined that the hasty implementation of GST in an economy which is still under the shock of demonetisation led to the present situation and economy need frequent stimulus packages. The progarmme was inaugurated by Principal Dr PK Babu. The inaugural session was chaired by HDO Dr Abdul Nasar Vallasseri. Sajithamohan M, Assistant Professor of Economics delivered welcome speech and Sifana of B5 Economics expressed vote of thanks.

Finance Bank, Thrissur on the title “Role of Microfinance Institutions in Financial
Inclusion of Kerala”.
The programme started at 2:00 pm with welcome speech by Mr. Sulfi. P,
Assistant Professor in Commerce. The programme was officially inaugurated by

Women development cell of MES Mampad college was inaugurated by Dr. Khadeeja Mumtaz ,a well known writer,activist and vice president of Sahitya academy on 10/10/2017 .She delivered a speech on the topic" Life of women in the modern era". Students from various departments participated in this programme .An interaction section was also held with the WDC and Malayalavedi students.The programme came to an end after a fruitful discussion.
NSS units of the college organized a one day tour to Ramakkalmedu â€“ a hill station famous for wind energy on 30/09/2017. 44 NSS volunteers and two programme officers were a part of this tour.
Entrepreneurship Development Club of MES Mampad College organized an Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp on 19 to 22 September 2017, in collaboration with NSTEDB, Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India. KITCO, Kerala.
The camp officially inaugurated by K.V Anwar, M.D Modern Distropolis Ltd and President Kerala Small Scale Industries Association. The Alumni Entrepreneurs Directory inaugurated by K.V Anwar and Entrepreneurship Library inaugurated by Prof. OP Abdurahiman. The camp begins on 19th September and Ends on 22nd September.
SKY(Skill to Youth) in collaboration with Career & Placement Cell of the college conducted finishing school for PG students on 22, 23 August 2017. Dr. PK. Babu, Principal inaugurated the workshop. Different sessions on Interview skills, CV Preparation, presentation skills and GD were led by experts.
NSS units of the college organized farmer's day celebration " on Chingam 1, 17/8/17.
Sri. Nageswaran, an engineer-turned organic farmer was the chief guest of the programme. He shared his experience in developing a self-sustainable model for farming in his native land. It was followed by an interactive session.New farming practices were discussed in the session. NSS programme officers Soumya S and Dr. Mansoor Ameen co-ordinated the programme.
PG Department of Economics conducted a seminar on "Insights on Capital Market" on 21st August 2017 in the seminar hall. CA Salman KK, Assistant General Manager, SEBI Kochi Office made the presentation on the topic.
Muhammed Shafi of first semester MA Economics won second place in the inter-collegiate presentation competition on GST held at PSMO College, Thirurangadi on 17.08.17. The programme was conducted by the Department of Economics, PSMO College. Mohamed Ashik of third semester MA Economics also participated in the competition
